I think I’ve said it before, I have so many memories with Longhorn Steakhouse. I adore their food, and so does my wife. This Longhorn Steakhouse Potato Soup is juicy, creamy, and warm. I know I’m sharing it a bit late since this kind of soup is perfect for winter, but you can save it for later or make it on a chilly summer night and enjoy it with a slice of another copycat recipe, Panera’s Tomato Basil Bread.
I was inspired to make this Longhorn Steakhouse Potato Soup after seeing someone on Reddit try it at home and share their experience. I used the ingredients and directions they mentioned and made a few tweaks. It turned out perfect, so cozy and creamy! You can also add extra toppings like shredded cheese and chopped chives to make it even better with a little crispy touch.

How to Make Longhorn Steakhouse Potato Soup Recipe?
Step 1:
First, cook the bacon in a pan until it’s crispy. Let it cool on paper, then break it into tiny pieces. of course, this step is optional.
Step 2:
Put butter in a big pot and melt it. Add chopped onion and garlic. Stir it for a few minutes until it smells so delicious.
Step 3:
Sprinkle in some flour and mix it with the buttery onion. Stir it for a little bit.
Step 4:
Slowly pour in chicken broth while stirring. Add chopped potatoes and a little salt and pepper. And Turn the heat up.
Step 5:
Turn the heat down low and let the soup cook for a while.
Step 6:
Now pour in the cream and add cheese. Stir until everything melts and gets smooth. Add some sour cream too if you want.
Step 7:
You can blend the soup with a blender to make it smooth, sometimes I only mash the potatoes a little if I desire them to be chunks.
Step 8:
Scoop the soup into bowls and sprinkle bacon, more cheese, and other toppings you like on top.
