Golden Corral Chocolate Pie
This copycat Golden Corral Chocolate Pie is just one of the many copycat recipes I plan to share before summer.

Last year, I made so many copycat recipes, including some from Golden Corral. Since it’s one of my favorite buffet places to visit, their Chocolate Pie is just the beginning. The pie turns out so good, with its creamy chocolate flavor.
I didn’t put a lot of effort into making this Golden Corral Chocolate Pie because I found it similar to making any regular chocolate pie.
I used graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and unsalted butter for the crust. The chocolate filling is not complicated, either. just like making any other chocolate filling. For the topping, I served it with honey, and for the kids, I added vanilla ice cream on top since they love it that way.
The experience of making this copycat Golden Corral Chocolate Pie was enjoyable for me, to be honest. You won’t get the exact taste that Golden Corral serves, but this is definitely the closest version you can try at home.

For the Pie Crust:
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the Chocolate Filling:

- ½ cup whole milk
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
For the Topping:

- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make Golden Corral Chocolate Pie?
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Stir everything very well. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish and cover the bottom and sides. Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool.
Step 2:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Stir it as well. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and cornstarch and pour some of the warm milk mixture into the yolks, constantly whisking. Return everything to the saucepan and cook. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir until smooth.
Step 3:
Now, pour the chocolate filling into the cooled pie crust, smoothing the top with your spatula. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Step 4:
In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Spread the whipped cream over the chocolate filling. Garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder and enjoy.

Helpful Tips!
- Remember that the flavor of your pie depends on the chocolate you use. I believe that Golden Corral uses the best chocolates, so make sure to use one too.
- If you’re making your own crust, which I suggest you do, make sure the graham crackers are crushed into crumbs. Big chunks can make the crust fall apart. A food processor will do the work.
- Let the filling cool for a few minutes before filling the pie shell, as it may be still hot to use.
What to Serve with This Golden Corral Chocolate Pie?
I love enjoying this Golden Corral Chocolate Pie with a cup of Red Devil Drink because the strong flavors of the drink pair nicely with the chocolate flavors of the pie. For my kids, I serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, as they always like it.
You can also pair it with some whipped cream or with a hot cup of coffee. Also, some chocolate chip cookies on the side make it so delicious if you choose a nice drink beside it.
