Cookout Sauce
Now that there are many of you searching for the best copycat Cookout Sauce that almost looks like the original, you’re in the right place. I’ll share how I made my Cookout Sauce easily and how it turned out.

Cookout Sauce is really famous. I know some friends who love it, too. The sauce is called different names at different restaurants. For example, it’s called Zaxby’s Sauce at Zaxby’s. I even tasted the sauce once at McDonald’s, though I don’t remember what they called it at the time. But we all agree that the sauce is so tasty and makes our meals more unique.
So, how did I make this Cookout Sauce? The answer is simple. I bought the one at Cookout, which lists all the ingredients on the label. I gathered the ingredients needed, though, of course, I couldn’t use some things they use, like phosphoric acid, etc. We wanted to make our version taste like the original but be natural and uncomplicated.
Based on my experience making this type of sauce over the years, I used mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard, and Worcestershire sauce as the base, with some apple cider vinegar and a few other spices and powders. The sauce turns out almost exactly like the original Cookout Sauce. And believe me, once you make this version, you’ll never need to order it again.

Helpful Tips!
- If you want the sauce to be tastier, try to use high-quality Mayo, as the quality makes a big difference for sure. Olive oil-based mayo is a great choice that I always love to use.
- I see some people love to use Yellow mustard, which is classic, but Dijon mustard or spicy brown mustard will add a more tangy flavor to your sauce.
- You can add some spiciness to the sauce by using chili powder.
What to Serve with Cookout Sauce?
Cookout Sauce pairs tasty with so many dishes. I love it with burgers and sandwiches, which is basic of this sauce as its served for this kind of meals, But I also love it with Spicy Grilled Chicken, some Homemade Chips or some crispy chicken tenders, And of course you can have it with roasted vegetables, grilled shrimp or a classic fried chicken. I would say that if you have a snack, for sure, Cookout Sauce always makes it better.
